State Administrative Bishop
Bill Claypoole
Bill Claypoole has served as the Administrative Bishop for the state of Arkansas for the past 6 years. He served 4 years in New Mexico/El Paso, Texas and 12 years as Church Amalgamations and Affiliations Coordinator for the Church of God. He has also served as National Evangelist for the Church of God. He pastored a church plant in Lexington, Kentucky for 2 years. He served in Oklahoma, Great Lakes Region, and Northern New England as State Youth and Discipleship Director. He served as Interim Pastor in Chicago, Illinois. He was State Evangelist in Kentucky for 4 years. He was also an Associate Pastor for 2 years at the Liberty Church of God in Lexington, Kentucky and a State Youth Board member in Kentucky.
Bishop Claypoole attended Lee University and has a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from International Seminary. He also has a Master’s Degree in Ministry from Southwest Christian University, a Master of Arts in Church Ministries from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Ministry at Okanagan Bible College.
Joy Claypoole
Women’s Ministries Director
Joy has served alongside her husband as a faithful servant to the church for over 37 years. She currently serves as Women’s Ministries Director for the Church of God in West Virginia. She has served as Director of Women’s Ministries in Arkansas and New Mexico, organized and led successful women’s conferences, events, and other ministries.
Bishop Claypoole and Joy are blessed with one daughter, Carrie Gunderson. Carrie and her husband Clay Gunderson are both credentialed ministers with the Church of God.
